The World Travel Awards is an international organization that recognizes the best destinations and providers of tourism worldwide. Every year, the winners are chosen by vote of an international jury of experts in the field of tourism, as well as colleagues and companies specializing in hospitality.
Cancun and Tulum were among the nominees for Best Beaches for 2015, and although they were not winners in the international edition; Cancun achieved recognition as the most popular destination in Mexico and the best Tourism Board in the Central America and Caribbean Edition.
This year the XXII edition of the World Travel Awards for Central America and the Caribbean will be held in the Bahamas on October 17, 2015.
